Secure Bill Pay

Health Insurance & Payment

We accept most insurance plans and self-pay. Insurance plans will cover nutrition counseling and weight loss in the context of treating associated metabolic and chronic disease, co-morbidity and illness. Patients are responsible for their co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles. Your co-pay is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, and credit cards.

Health insurance benefits are often difficult to understand specifically as it relates to out of pocket costs and patient responsibility. It is however important to know your benefits prior to any office visits to avoid any unforeseen medical expenses. We always try to assist but it is most effective to contact your insurance company and or broker for clarification. There are many online resources to educate. More on health insurance terminology.

Here is an incomplete list of the insurance we accept:

  • Most commercial insurance
  • Connect for Health Colorado / Healtcare Exchange / Marketplace
  • Medicare / Medicaid
  • Workers’ Compensation

Connect for Health Colorado is the brand new healthcare exchange / marketplace option for 2014, with one goal to provide more affordable insurance options including federal subsidies for those who qualify. Although we participate, several of the insurance carriers have elected to create limited provider networks within the marketplace that have excluded many primary care doctors, specialists and hospitals. Before purchasing be certain that we are selected as your preferred provider. Here are some of the new programs listing us: Denver LocalPlus, Statewide Cigna PPO/Cigna LocalPlus, Rocky Mountain HMO Statewide Provider Network, CoOpStateWideOne, Navigate, Rocky Mountain Health Care Options Statewide Provider Network, CoOpCentralMetro, CoOpStateWideTwo.

Some Medicare Advantage Senior (sometimes called “MA” or Medicare part “C”) provider networks are changing in 2014. Although we participate several of the insurance carriers, who manage these commercial programs, have elected to create limited provider networks excluding many primary care doctors, specialists and hospitals. Humana Gold Plus HMO access is limited. UnitedHealthCare’s AARP Medicare Advantage physician network has remained unchanged and open in Colorado. Always check with your insurance company to verify our participation.

Traditional Medicare part A, B & D remains a viable option along with Medicare supplement (Medigap) part F or G that will cover additional costs including part B excess charges.
